Whenever I hear about a natural growing plant or animal being unhealthy for us, I always check out the money train and then use a little common sense. As suspected, the attack on the perky bean that gives us our morning boost is all wet and carries no water at all.
In an interview with Dr. Roizen, he says, “Well, coffee, as long as you don’t have one of the four side effects of coffee, decreases your risk of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, liver and ovarian cancer, so coffee has a lot of benefits. Four side effects, headache, abnormal heart rhythms, gastric upset and anxiety, but if you don’t have one of those, the more coffee you have, the more it decreases your risk of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, memory loss, liver cancer, and even some others such as ovarian cancer.”
He goes on to say in the video, that it gives us much needed anti-oxidants, polyfenols and helps with anti-aging, helps with cancers, etc.
Bottom line, coffee can be good for you, in moderation and if I may add, if it is organic.
The real danger is , as with many foods we find in our stores, is where it is grown. DDT has been banned from the United States since 1972 but is found in our foods more than ever. Why? We bring in a lot of food from countries that have no regulation on hazerdous chemicals, whatsoever. Even a bug knows what is good and loves coffee beans. Hence, DDT and other pestisides are used heavily on coffee plants.
I would also add one more suggestion; watch out for decaf coffee. The decaffing process used in most of the world is toxic and ironically you won’t find decaf coffee in the more healthy European countries. I couldn’t even find it in Wales!
So grab a cup of coffee and watch the video vindicating your favorite morning ritual.
